One in two Aussie shoppers avoid brands after a bad delivery experience
With online shopping booming in the last decade, a recent study has suggested that 3 in 5 Australian shoppers are willing to pay an extra $20 for overnight shipping. In addition, out of all participants in the study, 71% have indicated that they have made a conscious decision not to purchase something online because of the limited shipping options available.
One of the key findings from BigCommerce’s global report about the Australian ecommerce landscape suggests that shipping is a critical element of any overall online shopping experience. More than 50% of the participants have stopped purchasing from online brands due to an unpleasant shipping experience.
In this report, it also shows that not offering free shipping could be a deal breaker. 45% of participants expressed their unwillingness to purchase from brands without complimentary shipping. The study uncovered that 4 in 5 participants have made a purchase with brands that offered free shipping and they have added items to their cart to meet a minimum requirement to avoid paying for shipping.
With Australia’s geographical location, 32% of the participants are willing to spend more on shipping when purchasing from international brands outside of Australia.
