ATO discusses the rollout of Single Touch Payroll
One of the latest roll outs from the ATO is the Single Touch Payroll reporting (STP). The ATO is now encouraging small business owners to transition into using this new initiative.
The STP allows small business owners to send tax and superannuation information to the ATO from accounting software, keeping in mind that some software might require updating to be able to do so.
With about 58,000 employers who have started using the STP, the ATO is now focusing on supporting smaller employers to transition to this new way of reporting with a range of free online tools and services.
Through STP, employees will be able to login their myGov account and view their superannuation information and year-to-date tax online.
